Fanny began her teaching career in Hong Kong in 1997. Throughout the last 25 years, she has taught over 150 students from all ages. With her guidance, many of them achieved a Performance Diploma and continued their musical journey in colleges.

In 2016, Fanny moved to Kansas City to pursue her study. A year later, she began to resume her teaching career. Since then, Fanny’s studio has been growing progressively.

Every student in Fanny’s studio receives great attention and many performing opportunities. She organizes performances for students and encorages them to participate in music competitions, assessments and piano events held by KCMTA.

Studio Policy

Students are required to continue lesson for a full academic year (September 1-June 15), attend all scheduled lessons and classes, and participate in an unspecified number of recitals, competitions and auditions. ALL students should arrive t lessons promptly, with all required materials and music.

ATTENDANCE:

ANNUAL CALENDAR

The calendar year includes two semesters of eighteen 30-minute/45-minute/ 60-minute weekly private lessons, and unspecified number of recitals and other events. All students are expected to participate in a minimum of one event outside the studio (i.e. a competition, festival, audition) per year. 

MAKEUP LESSONS:

Two makeup lessons per semester are allowed for excused absences from private lessons only. An absence due to illness, accident or family emergency is excused provided the teacher is notified at least 24hours in advance. Lessons missed due to family vacations are excused provided notification is given a month in advance. Lessons will be made up on the fourth Saturday of each month. It is the student’s responsibility to sign up for a makeup lesson time. Group lessons cannot be rescheduled.

TEACHER ABSENCES:

The teacher reserves the right to miss lessons due to illness or professional commitments. 

PRACTICE:

Students are required to practice a minimum of five days per week and meet the minimum practice time requirement as determined by the teacher. Failure to meet the practice requirement may result in termination of lessons.

LESSON TERMINATION:

Students may be asked to discontinue lessons at the end of a semester if they have had more than one unexcused absence, three excused absences, or more than four unprepared lessons. TUITION AND PAYMENT: 

30min lesson: 

  • Monthly tuition: $160 ($40 per lesson)

*Tuition will be adjusted for longer lessons.The teacher will provide all lesson materials at the students expense. 

PARENT PARTICIPATION:

Parents may be encouraged to attend and quietly observe all lessons. The teacher reserves the right to ask the parent not to attend if the parent’s presence alters the quality of the lesson. Parents are encouraged to be active participant s in practice at home. 

OFFICE HOURS:

The teacher will be unable to discuss student progress with parents before or after the lesson since other students have lessons at those times. Parents should call or schedule an appointment with the teacher, if they have concerns or questions. The most convenient time to reach the teacher is Monday-Friday 9:00AM -NOON at 816-456-1025 (PIANO). Email messages (kcguitarpiano@gmail.com) are encouraged.
